The smart choice for surveillance

WD Purple Surveillance Storage relies on AllFrame technology for maximum reliability and peace of mind when installing home or small and medium-sized security systems. WD Purple's unique firmware updates work with ATA streaming to reduce video pixelation and disruption errors that occur when desktop hard drives are misused as storage in security systems. WD Purple Surveillance Storage is designed for uninterrupted high-definition surveillance security systems that use up to eight hard drives and up to 32 cameras.

Choose the designed and engineered unit for residential and business surveillance systems and enjoy the peace of mind that only a dedicated hard drive for surveillance can give you.

Less energy consumption

Low power consumption is crucial in always-on and high-temperature surveillance environments. With exclusive IntelliSeek technology, WD Purple drives calculate optimal search speeds, reducing power consumption, noise and vibration that can damage and cause desktop drives to wear out faster. When you invest in a superior unit for surveillance, you care less and enjoy the benefits for long periods.

3-year limited warranty (worldwide)

Trust a company that has security to offer storage products for surveillance and a 3-year limited warranty around the world.

Recommended Usage

WD Purple storage is tested and recommended for surveillance and security systems with up to 8 bays and is optimized for 32 HD cameras. For increased surveillance capability, see WD datacenter hard drives. WF Purple is not recommended for use in NAS environments. Consider using WD Red hard drives for desktop and NAS RAID environments, or WD datacenter hard drives for mounting on racks or large RAID configurations.
